A cry for help …..

This a cry for help at the village fete on Saturday 29th June.  This will be the fourth year now since the fete has been re-instated and the last three have been really well attended and have been great fun.

The events team, which consists of 8 local ladies, organising the event are really struggling this year to find people who are willing to commit themselves for a few hours to help at the fete, between 12.30 and 4.30pm, even just for an hour or two. They are still looking for volunteers to help man the car park, run the dog show, sell raffle tickets, man the tombola stall, help run the bouncy castle, serve the teas and coffees, make a cake for the cake stall or assist with the children’s races.

Alternatively, perhaps you can help the team who get there for 7.30am to set up the marquees and gazebos, or maybe you could help in clearing up and dismantling the marquees at the end of the day from around 5pm to 7.30pm.

This whole event relies on people giving up their time for the community and helping make the Village Fete a fun day out. The events team also organise the firework night and the Christmas pantomime in the hall and again struggle to get people to help on these nights. These events will not be able to continue in the future without the help of volunteers.

If you can help on Saturday 29th June please e-mail anthonyquilter@uwclub.net or call Caroline on 01633 682 862.

We need help to put on a fun afternoon for your village…  Thank you!
