Church Lane – Message from Newport City Council Planning Enforcement

Civic Centre/Canolfan Ddinesig
Newport/Casnewydd
South Wales/De Cymru
NP20 4UR
Marshfield Ward

30th October 2020

To whom it may concern,

REFERENCE:ALLEGED UNAUTHORISED WORKS
SITE:Land to the north of St Mary’s Church, Church Lane, Marshfield, Newport.

Newport City Council has received a significant number of complaints in relation to the above site. Given the number involved, it is not possible to acknowledge every single complaint received.

A planning enforcement case has, however, been opened to investigate the matter and in due course the community will be informed of what action, if any, will be taken.  Newport City Council will endeavour to keep the Ward Councillors and Marshfield Community Council appraised of the situation. The Local Authority is also liaising with its partner organisations, such as Natural Resources Wales, in order to resolve this matter.

Currently, Planning Enforcement is in discussions with the owner about their intentions for the site. As part of these discussions, the owner has and will be advised of the relevant constraints imposed by the planning system and other appropriate legislative streams.

Yours faithfully,

Planning Enforcement
