Marshfield Community Council were informed on 7th September of Newport Council’s decision to re-evaluate the suitability of proposed gypsy and traveller sites, resulting in a shortlist of 11 that includes the old chicken factory in Marshfield and also Celtic Way (near Quinn), and now dismisses Pound Hill as unsuitable. A MCC planning meeting is being held on Monday 17th September, at 7.45pm at Marshfield Village Hall. We will formulate our objections to the proposals during this meeting, following which, a leaflet will be distributed to all households in Marshfield and Castleton encouraging everyone to contact NCC with their comments and objections. Guidance will be provided on how to respond and the points to include. Further information on the proposals can be found on Newport Council’s website www.newport.gov.uk . Please rest assured that we are dealing with the concerns and will take every necessary action.
